Professional Development Course (PDC)

In 2004, during the Central Council of Health meeting chaired by Honourable Prime Minister decided that the Deputy CMO and Deputy Health Officer at all the Districts in the country must be trained in health management, Public Health programmes, and Health Sector reforms, so that whenever they get promoted to District Chief Medical Officer they can run the system effectively and efficiently. MOHFW decided that NIHFW will organize a 12-weeks course named Professional Development Course (PDC). As a result, NIHFW conducted 5 such courses in a pilot mode at the NIHFW and then rolled out to the 14 Collaborating training institutes (CTIs) of the country.
